Shri Chintpurni (Una), October 5:- The Ashuj Navratri Fair at Mata Shri Chintpurni is being organised from October 11 to 20. This information was given by SDM Amb Paras Agrawal while presiding over a meeting held at Maidas Sadan on Monday to review preparations for the fair.
Paras Agrawal said that for the successful organisation of the fair, the SDM Amb would be appointed as the Mela Officer, while the DSP Amb would be appointed as the Police Mela Officer. In addition, four other police officers would also be deployed to assist them. The SMO would be deployed as the Medical Officer during the fair. He said that the fair area would be divided into four sectors. Police and Home Guard personnel would be deployed to maintain peace and law and order in the fair area.
Shri Agrawal said that one supervisor would be deployed in each of the four sectors of the fair area to ensure proper cleanliness arrangements. He said that the Jal Shakti Department had been directed to ensure that drinking water tanks were cleaned before the fair to provide clean drinking water to the devotees arriving during the fair. In addition, drinking water stalls would also be set up at four locations.
He also directed the Electricity Department to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the fair. He directed the Fire Department to ensure that fire tenders remained in proper working condition and, if there were any problems with the vehicles, their inspection should be carried out before the fair. He said that if any hydrants were in poor condition, they should be repaired at the earliest and a report submitted.
He said that during the fair, a Special Task Force would be constituted to keep a strict watch on begging, and if anyone was caught making children beg anywhere, action would be taken against them as per the provisions of the POCSO Act.
He said that during the fair, devotees would get darshan slips for visiting the shrine at Mai Das Sadan, Shambhu Barrier and MRC. In addition, obtaining permission for setting up a langar would be mandatory.
Officials and employees of the concerned departments, along with others, were present at the meeting.
