Dhuri, September 24:- The Municipal Council, Dhuri, organised a special awareness campaign under the cleanliness drive with the objective of keeping the city clean and beautiful. As part of the campaign, Municipal Council President Amarjot Kaur Bajwa flagged off the sanitation awareness rally. Students and staff of S.D. School also actively participated in the cleanliness campaign on the occasion.
On the occasion, President Amarjot Kaur Bajwa said that keeping the city clean is the collective responsibility of every city resident. She said that the Municipal Council is continuously making efforts to create awareness among people about cleanliness and further improve the sanitation system in the city.
She appealed to city residents to keep dry and wet waste generated from homes and shops separately and dispose of it only in designated dustbins or waste collection vehicles. She said that keeping waste segregated would also make it easier for waste pickers and sanitation workers to collect waste material and ensure its proper disposal.
She said that with the cooperation of city residents, Dhuri city is becoming considerably cleaner than before and the Municipal Council would make every possible effort to maintain this sanitation system in the future as well.
On the occasion, students of S.D. School participated in the rally while spreading the message of cleanliness awareness and motivated people to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, not throw waste here and there, and keep wet and dry waste separate.
Executive Officer Gurvinder Singh, Councillor Rajiv Chaudhary, Sushil Rani, Billa Singh, Shashi Devi, S.I. Rajesh Kumar, Navdeep Kumar, along with the SBM team, were present on the occasion.
