Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 9:- MLA from Dera Bassi Assembly constituency, Kuljit Singh Randhawa, attended mega parent-teacher meetings organized at three government schools in the constituency. During the visits, he interacted with parents, teachers and students at the School of Eminence, Dera Bassi; Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Lalru; and PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Lohgarh.
During the meetings, discussions were held on students’ education, academic performance and overall progress. Information was also shared about the initiatives being undertaken by the Punjab Government in the education sector and the schemes being implemented for students’ welfare.
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa urged parents to pay special attention to their children’s studies and daily activities and to maintain regular contact with teachers. He said that better coordination and cooperation between parents and teachers were essential for the all-round development of children.
On the occasion, parents were encouraged to make children aware of the harmful effects of drugs and motivate them to stay away from substance abuse. Emphasis was also laid on remaining attentive to children’s behaviour, company and activities, while encouraging them to adopt a healthy lifestyle and participate in constructive activities.
The MLA said that the joint contribution of the government, schools and parents was essential to secure a bright future for children, provide them with quality education and build a drug-free society.
