Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 9, 2026:- As part of the Health Department’s ‘Every Friday, Fight Dengue’ campaign to prevent dengue, a team of the Health Department, led by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain, conducted a surprise inspection of the police post located at Phase 6 Civil Hospital today and sensitized the staff about dengue prevention.
During the inspection, the special Health Department team, which included Dr. Parminderjit Singh, SMO, and District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni, thoroughly inspected various parts of the police post. The team examined potential mosquito-breeding sites within the premises, including coolers, flowerpots, scrap materials and open water tanks where water could accumulate.
Dr. Sangeeta Jain stated on the occasion that dengue mosquitoes breed in clean, stagnant water; therefore, everyone must ensure that water does not accumulate in their surroundings. She urged police personnel and other staff members to observe every Friday as a ‘Dry Day’ and keep all such places clean and dry where mosquitoes could breed.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni also shared information about the symptoms of dengue and ways to prevent the disease. The Health Department team urged the police post staff to follow health advisories and support the administration in the fight against dengue.
