Dhuri, October 5:- The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Punjab, Sangrur district, organised a district-level farmers training camp in Dhuri today to provide technical information regarding the cultivation of Rabi 2026 crops. OSD to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Sukhveer Singh, and Chairman of the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation, Dalvir Singh Dhillon, specially attended the camp.
On the occasion, OSD Sukhveer Singh said that the Punjab Government is continuously making efforts to provide farmers with information about modern agricultural technologies and scientific farming methods. He said such training camps provide an important platform for farmers to directly interact with agricultural experts and learn solutions to their farming-related problems.
Chairman Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that farmers are the backbone of Punjab’s economy and that providing scientific and technical information to farmers is the need of the hour to make agriculture more profitable. He appealed to farmers to implement the information provided by experts and adopt new agricultural technologies.
During the camp, experts from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Punjab, and Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, provided farmers with detailed technical information on methods of cultivating various Rabi crops, selection of seeds, crop management, prevention of pests and diseases, and other important agricultural subjects.
Progressive farmers were also honoured on the occasion for adopting new technologies and improved farming practices in the agricultural sector and setting an example for other farmers.
Various departments and institutions associated with agriculture also set up different stalls at the camp and organised an agricultural exhibition. Through these stalls, farmers were provided information about modern agricultural implements, departmental schemes, technical crop management and other facilities related to agriculture.
Food Commission Member Jasvir Singh Sekhon, Chairman Zila Parishad Rachhpal Singh Bhullar, Chief Agriculture Officer Sangrur Dr Harbans Singh Sidhu, along with officials of the Agriculture Department, representatives of various departments and a large number of farmers were present on the occasion.
