Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 7 October:- Under the guidance of Higher Education and Languages Minister Harjot Singh Bains and the directions of Director, Language Department, Punjab, Jaswant Singh Zafar, the District Language Office, S.A.S. Nagar, organised written children's literature quiz competitions for students today at Khalsa College of Technology and Business Studies, S.A.S. Nagar. Around 112 students from various schools and colleges affiliated with the district participated in the competitions. Research Officer Dr Darshan Kaur welcomed the students, teachers, parents and dignitaries who arrived to participate in the competitions and shared the rules of the competitions. As per the rules, the quiz competitions were conducted in written form and one hour was allotted for them. The students were asked a total of 100 questions related to Punjabi language, literature, religion, personalities, culture, history and geography, and the question paper carried a total of 400 marks.
In Category 'A' (Classes 6 to 8), Jasnoor Kaur (Shivalik Public School, Phase 6, S.A.S. Nagar) secured first position, Manseerat (Government High School, Garanga) secured second position, and Agamjot Singh (National Public School, Kharar) secured third position. Similarly, in Category 'B' (Classes 9 to 12), Saniya Gill (S.M.C. Senior Secondary School, Gharuan) secured first position, Harleen Kaur (Shivalik Public School, Phase 6, S.A.S. Nagar) secured second position, and Navjot Kaur (Government High School, Karkaur) secured third position. Likewise, in Category 'C' (College level), Harpreet Kaur (Shaheed Kanshi Ram Memorial College, Bhago Majra) secured first position, Navneet Kaur (Government College, Phase 6, Mohali) secured second position, and Rajwinder Kaur (Shaheed Kanshi Ram Memorial College, Bhago Majra) secured third position. The students securing first position in the different categories at the district level will participate in the state-level quiz competitions during Punjabi Month.
Senior Assistant Manjit Singh was also present on the occasion. The District Language Office expressed its gratitude to the Principal and entire staff of Khalsa College of Technology and Business Studies, S.A.S. Nagar, for their cooperation in successfully conducting the competitions.
