Garhshankar, October 4 (Hari Krishan Gangar):- During a public meeting held at Akalgarh village in Garhshankar constituency, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker and constituency MLA S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri handed over a cheque for a grant of Rs 30 lakh for development works in the village. The grant will mainly be utilised for development works related to streets, drains and sewerage.
On the occasion, Deputy Speaker Rouri interacted with the villagers and gathered information about their problems and requirements. He said that strengthening basic facilities in villages is a priority of the government and development works are being undertaken according to the needs of the people.
He said that basic facilities such as streets, drains and sewerage are directly connected with the daily lives of the people. Therefore, a grant of Rs 30 lakh has been provided for these works in Akalgarh so that better facilities can be made available to the villagers.
During the public meeting, the villagers also raised various other issues before Deputy Speaker Rouri. While listening to the people, the Deputy Speaker assured them that necessary action would be taken on the concerned matters as required.
The villagers thanked Deputy Speaker Rouri for providing the Rs 30 lakh grant for development works. They said that the grant would help improve the streets, drains and sewerage system of the village.
On the occasion, Sarpanch Balvir Singh, Panch Jaspreet Chopra, Panch Harpal Singh, Panch Narinder Pal Singh, Panch Balwinder Kaur, Panch Kamaljit Kaur, Balwinder Singh, Jasvir Singh Sodhi, Subhash Singh, President Bahudar Singh, Head Granthi Iqbal Singh, Balvir Singh, Manpreet Singh, Prabhjot Singh (Prabha), Sandeep Singh, Ravinder Singh Kala, Numberdar Daljit Singh, Zila Parishad Member Inderjit Singh Bariana, Jaskaran Singh Jassa Bhajjal, Raghubir Singh Rana Dansiwal, Vinder Goliyan, Gurpreet Singh Gopi Moilan Wahidpur, along with party workers and villagers, were present.
