Garhshankar, October 3 (Hari Krishan Gangar):- During a public meeting organized at Chahalpur village in Garhshankar Assembly constituency, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker and constituency MLA S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri handed over a cheque for a grant of ₹29 lakh for development works in the village. On the occasion, Deputy Speaker Rouri interacted with the villagers and gathered information about their problems and requirements.

Deputy Speaker Rouri said that the Punjab Government is giving priority to the overall development of villages. The government’s objective is to further strengthen basic facilities in villages and provide better amenities to people near their homes. He said that the grants being released for development works would be utilized according to the needs of the people.

During the public meeting, the villagers also raised various issues related to the village before Deputy Speaker Rouri. The Deputy Speaker listened to their problems seriously and directed the concerned officials to take necessary action as required. He said that resolving people’s difficulties is his first responsibility and that direct communication with the people of the constituency would continue to be maintained.

He said that development works related to roads, water supply, streetlights, health, education, sports grounds and other basic facilities are being given priority in the villages of Garhshankar constituency. Grants are being provided for development works according to the needs of the villages so that people do not have to face any kind of difficulty.

The villagers thanked Deputy Speaker Rouri for releasing the grant of ₹29 lakh. They said that the grant would help in carrying out the required development works in the village and further improve its basic facilities.

Panchayat representatives of the village, Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers, and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
