Una, October 3:- To promote the digital agricultural revolution and ensure direct access to government benefits for farmers, the Farmer Registry process is being carried out on a large scale in Una district under the ‘AgriStack Mission’. Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has appealed to all farmers in the district to complete their registration so that a verified digital identity can be created for every farmer.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that under the Farmer Registry, farmers are being provided an 11-digit unique ‘Farmer ID’. This digital ID is essential for farmers to access various agriculture-focused services and government schemes in a convenient, transparent and seamless manner. These benefits include uninterrupted and transparent access to PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, transparent and easy availability of fertilizers under the fertilizer sale system, and sale of crops at Minimum Support Price through the procurement portal, among other benefits.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the Agriculture Department organized more than 50 special camps in Una district during September for on-the-spot registration of farmers. At present, the district has achieved approximately 46% of the prescribed target. The administration’s main objective is to ensure that no farmer in Una district is deprived of the benefits of any government scheme or service due to the absence of a Farmer ID.
CSC and Gram Panchayats Directed to Ensure 100% Registration
The Deputy Commissioner said that to accelerate the Farmer Registry process, the district administration has issued directions to the District Manager of Common Service Centres and all Village Level Entrepreneurs to ensure 100% registration in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director Agriculture, Una, Prem Singh said that under the AgriStack project, 43,822 farmers of Una district have been connected with the Digital Farmer Registry. The digital registry is providing farmers with an integrated digital identity, which will help make government schemes and agricultural services available in a simpler, more transparent and timely manner. Information related to the farmer’s identity, land records, crop details and various government schemes will be available on the digital platform. Each registered farmer will be provided an Aadhaar-based 11-digit unique Farmer ID, which will be useful in the future for various agricultural services, verification of documents and availing benefits of government schemes.
He urged all farmers of the district to visit their nearest CSC centre or special camps being organized to get their Farmer ID generated.
