Karnal, October 10:- The Karnal District Police, acting under the guidance and directions of Superintendent of Police Karnal, IPS Karan Goyal, has taken effective action to curb snatching incidents. A CIA-3 team has arrested four accused for allegedly committing a snatching incident at knife-point. All four accused have several criminal cases registered against them. On October 6, 2026, they allegedly held a knife to a young man’s neck and abdomen in the Banso Gate area and snatched two gold earrings from him. They also threatened to kill him if he reported the incident to the police.
Acting under the leadership of CIA-3 in-charge Inspector Ajay Sagwan, a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kuldeep Singh arrested all four accused. They have been identified as Rohit alias Patha, a resident of Banso Gate, Karnal; Vikas alias Chhota Shera, a resident of Bakery Wali Gali, Banso Gate, Karnal; Sawan, a resident of Indira Colony, Shivpuri Road, Karnal; and Ansh Sagar alias Anshu, originally from Uttar Pradesh and currently residing in Banso Gate, Karnal.
The investigating officer stated that, according to the case details, the complainant, a resident of Banso Gate, Karnal, had lodged a complaint at City Police Station, Karnal. He stated that on the night of October 6, 2026, he was going from his home to Karn Bakery to buy a cake when three to four young men approached him on foot from behind and surrounded him. They allegedly threatened him with a knife, snatched his two gold earrings and fled from the spot. While leaving, they also threatened to kill him if he complained to the police.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at City Police Station, Karnal, under the Arms Act and relevant sections of law.
According to the police, 10 cases were already registered against arrested accused Rohit alias Patha, six against Vikas alias Chhota Shera, and four each against Sawan and Ansh Sagar alias Anshu. The team formally arrested all four accused from Banso Gate in accordance with the law and conducted identification of the crime scene through them. The accused were produced before the court, which granted four days of police remand. During the remand period, they will be questioned thoroughly to establish further details of the case.
