Karnal, 9 October:- Under the guidance and direction of Karnal Superintendent of Police, Shri Karan Goyal, IPS, Karnal District Police is continuously taking action to curb thefts and apprehend those involved in criminal activities. As part of this drive, the CIA-3 team has taken major action in a case involving the theft of gold jewellery from a house, arresting two accused and taking one minor into custody. The police team has successfully recovered the stolen gold jewellery weighing 30 tolas from the accused.

Addressing a press conference, DSP City Shri Rajiv Kumar, HPS, stated that Jaspal Singh, son of Jaswant Singh and a resident of village Upli, had lodged a complaint at Gharaunda Police Station reporting the theft of gold jewellery from his house. Taking the complaint of theft of valuable gold jewellery seriously, the police initiated an investigation and intensified efforts to identify those involved in the theft and recover the stolen property.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered under the relevant sections at Gharaunda Police Station on 6 October 2026. Subsequently, under the directions of the Superintendent of Police, Karnal, the police investigated the case and searched for the accused on the basis of various facts and evidence.

During the investigation, the police team, led by CIA-3 In-charge Inspector Sandeep Sangwan, took action and arrested two accused while taking one minor into custody. The arrested accused have been identified as Harshpreet, son of Taranjeet, a resident of village Upli, Gharaunda Police Station, and Mandeep Tasham, son of Pawan Kumar, a resident of village Rasin, Madhuban Police Station, Karnal district.

During questioning and further investigation, the CIA-3 team recovered the stolen gold jewellery weighing 30 tolas.

The police are also investigating other aspects of the case to establish all the facts related to the theft. If the involvement of any other person comes to light, action will be taken against them in accordance with the law.

The police will produce both accused before the competent court and initiate the process of seeking police remand. During remand, they will be questioned in detail about the theft, the stolen property and the possible involvement of other accused in the case.

Meanwhile, the minor taken into custody in this case has been sent to the Juvenile Observation Home in Ambala district in accordance with the prescribed procedure.

Karnal District Police is continuously taking action against those involved in theft, robbery and other property-related offences. The police aim to curb criminal incidents, identify offenders and bring them within the ambit of the law, while ensuring the safety of the public’s property.

Any suspicious activity or information about a theft should be reported to the police immediately so that timely action can be taken.
