Chandigarh, October 17:- Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was personally monitoring crop procurement arrangements across the state. The Chief Minister has issued clear directions that no farmer should face any difficulty in selling their produce. He said the state government stood firmly with farmers and every single grain of their produce would be procured. Arrangements for procurement, lifting and payments at mandis were being continuously monitored. He directed officials to ensure that negligence at any level in crop procurement would not be tolerated.

The minister visited the grain market in Rohtak on Saturday to review crop procurement arrangements and was speaking to journalists during the visit.

The minister said that during Congress rule, farmers had to wait for two to three months at mandis to sell their produce. Today, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the procurement process has been accelerated, and procurement is now being completed within 15 days. He said the Congress had developed a habit of making political statements instead of addressing farmers’ concerns. The government’s priority was to ensure that farmers received a fair price for their produce on time and that it was lifted promptly from the mandis.

He said the Congress had no concrete issue left with which to corner the government, which was why it was raising questions sometimes over crop procurement and at other times over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Congratulating Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and the people of Haryana on the completion of two years of the state government, Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said the government was committed to the welfare of farmers, the poor, youth and every section of society. Under the Chief Minister’s leadership, development and public welfare initiatives were being continuously advanced.

On the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the demand for the Chief Election Commissioner’s resignation, the minister said the Congress should clarify why the same Election Commission appeared completely impartial to it when it won elections, but accusations of electoral malpractice began as soon as it lost. He alleged that the opposition in the country wanted to create an atmosphere of disorder in a systematic manner. Instead of accepting responsibility for its electoral defeats, the Congress was targeting constitutional institutions and attempting to mislead the public. BJP district president Ranveer Singh Dhaka, Sub-Divisional Officer Ashish Kumar, chairman Harish Kaushik, former Mayor Manmohan Goyal, former Senior Deputy Mayor Rajkamal Sehgal, Hariom Bhali, officials and farmers were present on the occasion.
