Mohali (Harminder Singh Nagpal):- Renowned social worker Manjit Singh Bhalla, a resident of Phase 6, Mohali, and a retired Senior Manager from Verka Milk Plant, Mohali, has launched the AK Foundation in memory of his late wife Avtar Kaur. At the launch of the foundation, free hearing aids were distributed to needy persons at Phase 6, Mohali.

The foundation was inaugurated by R.P. Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, Mohali. On the occasion, he praised the social service initiatives being undertaken by Manjit Singh Bhalla and said that Manjit Singh Bhalla and his late wife Avtar Kaur had earlier also been helping needy people. From time to time, they had organised free eye check-up camps as well as spectacles distribution camps.

He said that launching the AK Foundation in memory of Avtar Kaur after her demise was a social welfare initiative through which needy people would continue to receive assistance in the future as well.

On the occasion, Manjit Singh Bhalla said that the foundation would organise blood donation camps, eye check-up camps, medical camps and other public welfare activities in the coming period. He said that needy persons could contact his office on any day throughout the year to receive spectacles.

R.P. Sharma, Balwinder Singh Jammu, Advocate Harman Hundal, Parmbir Singh Bhalla (son), along with other dignitaries and social workers, were present on the occasion.
