Hansi (Dinkar Gavdi):- The district administration is finalising preparations for the Rakhigarhi Festival. As part of these efforts, administrative officials promptly resolved the waterlogging problem on the road near the bus stand in Rakhi village. The waterlogging had been causing inconvenience to the public in commuting.
With the efforts of officials from the Development and Panchayat Department and the cooperation of a local farmer, a temporary arrangement was made to drain the water, resolving the problem.
It is noteworthy that, as in previous years, the Rakhigarhi Festival will be organised from October 19 to 25, 2026. A meeting to review the preparations was held on October 13 under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Laksit Sareen. During the meeting, the waterlogging problem on the road near the bus stand in Rakhi village was highlighted, and the concerned officials were directed to ensure drainage from the Public Works Department road so that the public and visitors would not face any inconvenience during the festival.
In compliance with these directions, a team of village secretaries from the Block Office, led by District Development and Panchayat Officer Sandeep Bhardwaj and BDPO Ashok Kumar, visited the site on October 15 and assessed the situation. The officials made local efforts to resolve the waterlogging problem promptly.
At the site, the officials contacted Birju, a local resident and farmer, and sought his cooperation in allowing the water to drain into his field. In response to the administration's request, Birju agreed to allow the water to flow into his field. A temporary drainage arrangement was then made on the spot, resolving the waterlogging problem.
The administration's prompt action has helped alleviate the inconvenience caused to the public by waterlogging on the road. It has also marked an important step towards ensuring smooth movement in the area ahead of the Rakhigarhi Festival.
Village secretaries Amit Kumar, Manoj Kumar and Praveen Kumar, along with Junior Engineer Yogesh Munjal and other concerned staff members, were present.
