Lalru, 7 October:- Under funds provided by the Punjab Mandi Board, Dera Bassi MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa presented a cheque of ₹75,000 as financial assistance to Shri Om Prakash Mehta, son of Shri Sioram Mehta, a resident of village Bhagwasi.
Shri Om Prakash Mehta had lost all five fingers of his right hand in an accident while working in the fields. In view of the difficulties faced by the family due to the accident, the Punjab Mandi Board provided this financial assistance as per the prescribed rules.
Dera Bassi Market Committee Chairman S. Kuldeep Singh was also present on the occasion.
MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa said that continuous efforts are being made to ensure that needy people receive the benefits of government schemes and assistance.
