Hoshiarpur (Daljit Ajnoha):- “My objective is to strengthen the basic infrastructure of all villages in my constituency according to their needs and ensure that better public facilities are available to people in their own villages or nearby,” said Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar while interacting with people in Rampur. He had reached Rampur to inspect the ongoing road construction work in the village. He said that a 22-foot-long road from the residential area of Rampur towards the choe is being constructed at a cost of ₹7 lakh.
While interacting with the villagers, he reviewed the progress of the road construction work and directed the concerned officials to complete it within the stipulated time while maintaining high quality. Emphasising the need to strengthen basic infrastructure and public facilities in rural areas, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that development works worth around ₹5.9 crore have been initiated in Rampur. These include major works related to roads, irrigation, health facilities, drainage, streets, street lights, sports facilities and community facilities.
The villagers thanked Dr. Ishank Kumar for widening the Mahilpur-Jaijon road passing from Rampur through Fatehpur, Kangar Kothi and Gangowal from 3.05 metres to 5.50 metres. The MLA said that the widening work on this road has been completed at a cost of ₹422.87 lakh. Besides this, a 1.40-kilometre road from Rampur Kothi to Mehamdoval is to be constructed at a cost of ₹4.70 lakh, and work on it will begin soon.
To further strengthen healthcare facilities, a Health and Wellness Centre is also being constructed soon in Rampur at a cost of ₹55 lakh, for which the grant has been approved. Besides this, an irrigation tubewell costing ₹65 lakh has already been installed in the village, providing convenience to local farmers.
Under other development works, ₹3 lakh has already been spent on a Dharamshala/Community Centre. Similarly, work on 20 street lights costing ₹2.94 lakh and a gym room costing ₹5 lakh has been completed. An amount of ₹11 lakh has been earmarked for drainage, while ₹2 lakh has been allocated for flood-affected areas in the village. In addition, ₹5 lakh has been announced for the construction of a sports ground, and the amount will be released soon.
Dr. Ishank Kumar said that the development of villages in his constituency always remains his priority and that he is committed to fulfilling the promises made to the people of Chabbewal.
