Mohali, 26 September:- A Connecting Society programme dedicated to the message of respecting parents and serving Gau Mata was organised at Mat-Pita Godham Mahatirth on Saturday. Teachers of Baby Convent School and around 150 students participated in the programme.
At the beginning of the program, the students and teachers were welcomed by the sevadars of Mat-Pita Godham Mahatirth and Brahmanand Ji Maharaj by applying tilak. The children fed rotis to Gau Mata with their own hands and, while learning about the importance of Gau Mata, visited the under-construction Mat-Pita Temple and remembered their devotion to their respective parents.
Almost all the children participated in the slogan competition, in which Class 7 student Bani secured first position, Class 8 student Ekamjot secured second position and Class 7 student Sandhya secured third position.
Class 8 student Rehan Shool won a prize by singing a song and showcasing his talent, while Class 7 students Sahajpreet Kaur, Bani, Hargunpreet Kaur, Sandhya and Kashish won a prize by presenting a collective and emotionally touching song for their parents.
All the winners were honoured by Mat-Pita Godham Mahatirth founder Gauchar Das Gianchand Walia. All the teachers present were also honoured for joining this ideology and creating awareness.
Walia explained to all the children that parents are our Gods and that all deities reside in Gau Mata. He also had the children raise slogans in praise of their parents, which they understood very naturally as a chapter of life and resolved to incorporate this thought into their lives.
After the programme, refreshments were also distributed among the students. Cultural and social activities are organised regularly at Mat-Pita Godham Mahatirth from time to time to keep society connected, promote a sense of unity, harmony and brotherhood, and eliminate caste-based discrimination.
Gauchar Das Gyan, the trustees and executive members of the organisation are continuously working to convey its core message, “Respect parents in every home and love Gau Mata,” to society. Through the world’s first under-construction Mat-Pita Temple at Mat-Pita Godham Mahatirth, the message is also being given to people to see the divine form in their parents and respect them.
