Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 15: In view of the Kharif season 2025-26 which is starting from September 16 in the state of Punjab, arrangements for paddy procurement have been completed in the district.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, the Punjab government is starting the Kharif season 2025-26 from September 16, 2025 in the entire state, which will be completed by 30.11.2025, which will give more time to the farmers to sell the paddy crop in the markets at the government rate.
He said that in the past few days, the people of Punjab had to face natural disasters like floods and the administration has made every effort to deal with the problem of floods for the common people. He said that in the Kharif season also, keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, the district administration has made proper arrangements for the purchase and storage of the cumin seeds brought to the markets on the orders of the Punjab government and after purchasing the farmers' crop on time, the payment will be made within a period of 48 hours. The Deputy Commissioner said that the government and the district administration are committed to purchasing every single grain of the farmers' crop. He appealed to the farmer brothers that only the paddy with a moisture content of up to 17 percent should be brought to the market after drying so that the crop can be auctioned on time and the farmers can get the price of their crop without any delay.
