Derabassi (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), 09 September 2025: Constituency MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa held a meeting with the Municipal Council President, Block President, MC Sahiban and officials at the Municipal Council office Derabassi today. During this, he discussed the works and repairs affected by continuous rain and rainwater in the city. He instructed that all the officials should come down to the ground level with mutual coordination and get people's work done quickly.
Mr. Randhawa said that due to heavy rain, many streets have been damaged, paver blocks have been uprooted, some houses have collapsed and many poor families are deprived of roof, food and ration. He said that the affected persons can register their issues by contacting the office on the phone number 01762-280095. Pictures of the damage caused by the rain can also be sent, so that immediate help can be provided to every needy person.
He said that there is also a large-scale cooperation from the officials and the common people. Many officials have deducted their salaries and provided ration and other essential materials to the victims. Straw etc. for animals are also being distributed.
Mr. Randhawa said that 10 districts of Punjab have suffered heavy damage due to rain and his constituency Derabassi has also faced a big challenge. He prayed for the prosperity of the constituency and the welfare of the people that everyone should always remain in prosperity.
