Chandigarh: The Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councilor Prem Lata of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation staged a sit-in protest outside the Mayor's office. They held three different banners in their hands.
Senior Deputy Mayor Bunty stated that the exploitation of Municipal Corporation employees must be stopped. The Municipal Corporation employees who are cleaning our city are being suspended without reason every day by the authorities.
Deputy Mayor Tarun Mehta stated, "Down with the Mayor who is strangling Manimajra." He stated that the joining plan for Manimajra, prepared by the Chandigarh Administration, was completely flawed and should be investigated impartially.
Councilor Prem Lata also stated that the 24x7 water supply project introduced by the government has completely failed. All the councillors want this project cancelled to avoid burdening the public, as the people of Manimajra are still not getting clean water or timely water, yet they are being burdened by imposing taxes.
Bunty explained that the Mayor kicked us out of the House meeting, but the remaining 29 days are ours. We will continue to advocate for the city's development. The Mayor can remove us from the House, but she cannot remove us from the hearts of the people. We will always speak out on development issues.
