Chandigarh- Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee members Bibi Paramjit Kaur Landran, Jathedar Satwinder Singh Tohra, Jathedar Malkit Singh Changal and Jathedar Rampal Singh Bahniwal in a joint press conference strongly objected to the indiscriminate looting of SGPC funds for political gains. SGPC members raised serious questions on the looting of SGPC's Golak.
Bibi Paramjit Kaur Landran, while presenting evidence of political use of SGPC funds, said that it is the voice and demand of the Panth that SGPC should provide maximum help to flood-affected areas, but the Sangat cannot tolerate the use of SGPC funds through any political leader.
Bibi Landra made a big disclosure about the diesel distributed by Sukhbir Badal in Makrod Sahib and Moonak and said that Sukhbir Badal had announced to give 2000 liters of diesel to both the places on 5th and had told the constituency in-charge Khandebad that he will deliver it himself.
The next day, a letter number 441 dated 6th September was written to the main office from Gurdwara Nanakiana Sahib, which comes under the purview of SGPC, and in response, 3000 liters of diesel was approved on 9th September and this diesel was distributed through the constituency in-charge of Sukhbir Singh Badal faction, Gagandeep Singh Khandebad. Evidence was continuously presented through the media regarding this.
Besides, BB Ladders revealed that the SGPC internal committee meeting was held today at Sri Amritsar Sahib, in which the open resolution passed testifies that despite all the announcements by Sukhbir Badal, all kinds of goods like fodder, ration, utensils, tents, diesel etc. are being purchased and sent everywhere from the SGPC golak. The Sikh Panth demands an investigation into this by a Jan Bhagidari Committee. He appealed to the Sikh Panth to unite and launch a "Gurudwara Sudhar Andolan 2" so that the SGPC can be made independent.
Jathedar Satwinder Singh Tohra released a video of the use of golak by political leaders and questioned the SGPC president as to why he was allowed to openly play political games with the ten rupees given by the Sangat.
Jathedar Tohra said that Sukhbir Badal has misled the Sangat by putting the diesel and other goods being given by the SGPC into his personal account. Sukhbir Singh Badal is continuously using the SGPC golak for political interests.
Jathedar Malkit Singh Changal called the action taken against the employees in the case of theft of 450 bags of cement recently as shameful and demanded that the membership of the member from whose house 450 bags of cement were stolen should be cancelled and a case should be registered against him and his entire tenure should be investigated.
He stressed that the Central Government had conducted SGPC elections 14 years ago and these are pending for 10 years, the Central Government should conduct elections immediately so that the Panth can elect honest members to take care of the Gurudwaras and the Gurughars can be liberated.
Along with this, Jathedar Rampal Singh Bahniwal said that if the elections are not announced by the Center, then we will start a struggle to conduct elections under the leadership of Giani Harpreet Singh. In this regard, efforts to mobilize the Sikh Sangat will be intensified after the flood situation improves.
