Verka starts supplying ration kits to flood-affected people of Punjab.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 28: Showing solidarity with the flood-affected people of Punjab, Punjab Milkfed Chairman Narinder Singh Shergill today afternoon dispatched 700 ration kits from Verka Milk Plant, Mohali.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 28: Showing solidarity with the flood-affected people of Punjab, Punjab Milkfed Chairman Narinder Singh Shergill today afternoon dispatched 700 ration kits from Verka Milk Plant, Mohali.
Shergill said that as per the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Milkfed has decided to send 15,000 food kits to the flood-affected areas. These kits include essential items like sugar, flour, rice, milk powder, drinking water, tea leaves, biscuits, bread and matches.
He said that Verka and Milkfed Punjab have always stood firmly with Punjabis in times of crisis and natural calamities. He said, "A large number of our farmer members are associated with animal husbandry, hence it is our duty to provide them full support in this difficult time."
He said that Milkfed has more than 10 milk plants and some animal feed units. Since the board of directors of this cooperative is made up of farmers, we will continue to help the flood victims through our plants and feed units. He said that all the Verka plants will serve humanity in turn and deliver ration kits so that the flood victims of Punjab continue to get continuous help.
He also said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann distributed food packets through his government helicopter during his visit to the flood affected areas yesterday and has issued orders to all departments to be ready for immediate rescue and relief operations.
