Hoshiarpur- Dr. Raj Kumar, Member of Parliament, Hoshiarpur, gave special honour to international cyclist Balraj Singh Chauhan on receiving the State Award on Independence Day by the Punjab Government. Dr. Pankaj Shiv was also present on this occasion. At this time, he said that we are proud that our cyclist Balraj Singh Chauhan from Hoshiarpur has received this honour due to his hard work.
Balraj Chauhan has made the name of Hoshiarpur famous in the country and abroad. He is an example for the youth and hundreds of youth are taking up cycling after being influenced by him. He said that the Punjab Government is making every possible effort to promote sports.
At this time, Balraj Chauhan thanked the Punjab government and Dr. Raj Kumar and said that for the first time, the Punjab government has given this state award to a cyclist, which I felt was worthy of. When such honors are received, it gives me more courage and I will participate in other big events in the future.
He appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs and join sports to keep themselves mentally and physically healthy. It is worth mentioning that Balraj Chauhan has so far cycled 1 lakh 90 thousand kilometers by participating in events held in the country and abroad and has honored many colleges, schools, universities and sports clubs.
