The desilting campaign of Una Municipal Corporation continued for the second consecutive day.

Today, desilting work was done near Sheetla Mata Temple on Tikka Road in Ward No. 1 and Friends Colony on Amb Road. Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar himself reached the spot and inspected the ongoing cleaning work.
He said that due to heavy rains, silt has again accumulated in the drains, to remove which the Municipal Corporation is running a special cleaning campaign. The aim of the campaign is to ensure that people do not have to face the problem of waterlogging or dirt after the rains, and the cleanliness system of the city can become normal soon.
The ADC said that the drains were cleaned before the rains, but due to the rains, they got filled with silt again. To deal with such a situation, the Municipal Corporation has deployed adequate machinery and manpower so that work is being done on priority basis in the affected areas.
Earlier on Saturday also, drains were cleaned with the help of three JCB machines and sanitation workers in Lower Aranyala and Tikka Road area of Ward No. 1. This work was completed under the supervision of Municipal Corporation Sanitary Supervisor Vijay Kumar and his team.
