Claims of "Jan Grievance Portal" are hollow, message of 'Resolved' is getting without solution: Sukhdev Chaudhary

Zirakpur, 14 July- Recently, the state government had promoted loudly that if any citizen experiences any disturbance or negligence in the government service, he can file a complaint sitting at home and he will get a solution within 15 days. For this, 'Public Grievance Redressal Portal' has been launched at https://connect.punjab.gov.in.

But this claim is proving to be only paper. The reality is that a few days after the complaint is filed, an automated message is sent to the complainant saying  “Your issue has been resolved”  — whereas actually there is no action, no response.
Sukhdev Chaudhary, president of Jack Resident Welfare Association, said that the complainant is neither contacted by any official, nor does he get any information about the investigation. Grievance redressal system has become completely showy.
Instead of taking public grievances seriously, mere formalities are being carried out — making it clear that the government's supposed accountability and transparency is limited to newspaper headlines.

We demand from the government:
1. Clear information about the verification and resolution of every complaint should be given to the complainant.
2. Before sending a message like “Your issue has been resolved” the confirmation of the complainant should be taken.
3. Strict action should be taken against the guilty officers.
Otherwise, this whole system will only be a way to confuse the public and suppress the real problems.
