UP: PM announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for 5 killed in car accident at wedding in Sambhal.

Sambhal, July 5 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed deep grief over the Sambhal wedding car accident incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the kin of the deceased. Sambhal SP KK Bishnoi said, "Around 7.30 pm, we received information that a Bolero Neo car had crashed into the wall of Janta Inter College. The SP further said, “Five seriously injured were referred to Aligarh and the remaining five died on the spot. They were residents of Hargovind village under Junwai police station area.” He said that the car was part of a procession going during a wedding function. Initial investigation has revealed that the accident occurred due to the driver’s mistake.
In this regard, Prime Minister Modi said in a post on X, “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the accident that took place in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Condolences to those who lost their family members in this accident, may the injured recover soon.” He wrote, “Ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the kin of each deceased from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.”
