Dr. Seema said that keep your small children away from people coming from America. Because this disease spreads from one person to another. Its germs remain in the air for hours even after the infected person gets up and leaves, which can infect others. Measles is a disease of children but sometimes it also affects adults. It has symptoms like fever, red spots, rash and cold. In severe cases, pneumonia and swelling in the brain can also lead to death.
The first measles vaccine is given when the child is 9 months old and the second vaccine is given at the age of one and a half years. Children who have not been given this vaccine till the age of 5 years should get this vaccine at the nearest health center and then the second vaccine should be given at an interval of one month. While getting the vaccine, the parents should bring their Aadhar card or any ID proof so that its entry can be made on U Win.
It is also necessary to give vitamin A supplements along with this vaccine. After getting the vaccine at the age of one and a half years, vitamin A supplements must be given at an interval of every six months till the age of five years. These vaccines and vitamin A are available in all government institutions and are given absolutely free.
