
Senior Citizens celebrated Senior Citizens Day by giving roses to senior citizens.
Patiala: 22 August 2025: Senior citizens should keep their health check-up in their daily life. Apart from this, they should adjust themselves in families according to the modern era, because with the progress of knowledge and science, the entire way of living, thinking and behavior has changed.

These views were expressed by Ujagar Singh, Retired District Public Relations Officer, while speaking at a meeting organized by Senior Citizens Welfare Society Urban Estate Patiala to celebrate Senior Citizens Day. He further said that government offices and other institutions should attend to senior citizens on priority basis, because senior citizens are the capital of the society.
To stay healthy, light meals should be given priority. Light exercise, yoga and walking should be done. On this occasion, Dr. Bhiminder Singh, Director World Punjabi Center, gave detailed information about the country's freedom movement in the keynote speech.
Urged to get out of the clutches of capitalism. Dr. Gursharan Kaur Jaggi released the directory of the society. Dalip Singh Uppal introduced Dr. Bhiminder Singh. The society presented roses to all the members on the occasion of Senior Citizens Day. On this occasion, doctors specializing in bone and urology diseases of Manipal Hospital Patiala checked up the members.
Nirmal Kaur Roj, Tarlok Singh Dhillon and Gurmeet Kaur entertained the members by reciting poems and songs. The birthdays of the members were celebrated by cutting cakes and giving gifts. The couple of Harbans Singh Sethi and Sudarshan Sethi were honored with a year on their 80th birthday.
Ashok Raj Singh Pannu, President of the Society, in his presidential address, informed about the arrangements to hold the Society's meeting every month in the Elite Club in coordination with PUDA and thanked everyone. General Secretary of the Society, SP Goyal, welcomed the chief guest and members and moderated the stage.
