Dharamkot:- Union Animal Husbandry and Panchayat Raj Minister SP Singh Baghel has reached Punjab on a two-day visit to assess the damage caused in the flood-affected villages. The Union Minister visited half a dozen flood-affected villages on the banks of the Sutlej River and assessed the damage caused.
On this occasion, BJP District President former MLA Dr. Harjot Kamal Moga, BJP senior leader former SP Mukhtiar Singh, Dharamkot Mandal President Shamsher Singh Kaila, Fatehgarh Panjtur Mandal President Sukhwinder Singh Bhinda etc. besides a large number of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and workers were present.
The Union Minister started his tour from village Bogewala and went to villages Sanghera, Kambo Khurd, Bhaini, Sherpur Taiba, Sherewala Chak Tarewala and Gatti Jattan very close to the rivers and met the affected people. On this occasion, while assessing the damage, he said that the Punjab government has already released funds for relief work and after receiving the assessment report, all possible help will be provided to the affected people.
On this occasion, Baghel said that the state government's flood prevention advance arrangements have proven to be a complete failure, if the water demanded by Haryana had been released earlier, then the situation in Punjab would have been different today. He said that due to the lack of cooperation and coordination between the state's AAP government and the central government, many central projects are on hold.
He said that the state government's failure to implement the crop insurance scheme is also a big mistake. He said that only the owners of the land are eligible to receive the compensation. Compensation for government lands on the river will not be given. The Union Minister completely rejected the allegations of discrimination leveled by the AAP government against the center and said that the attitude of the AAP government has been arrogant from the beginning.
