Mohali, August 21: The camps being set up at various places under the 'BJP De Sevadar, Aa Gaye Tuhade Dwar' campaign are being stopped and in protest against the arrest of BJP leaders, Punjab BJP, led by the State Working President Ashwani Sharma, submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria.
Speaking on the occasion, senior leader of Punjab BJP, Narinder Rana said that Punjab BJP strongly opposes the repression being carried out by the AAP government. It is not a crime to deliver the public welfare schemes being given by the Central Government to the people of Punjab, rather it is an act of public service, which cannot be stopped.
Rana said that to ensure that the poor, scheduled caste community, farmers, youth and women of Punjab get the benefits of the public welfare schemes of the Modi government at the Centre, the 'BJP De Sevadaar, Aa Gaye Tuhade Dwar' public service campaign is being run across Punjab today. Through this campaign launched by the BJP, lakhs of Punjabis are getting the benefits of the central government schemes.
The Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab has failed to take the central government's public welfare schemes to every village and the AAP government is misusing the police and administration to stop Modi ji's 'public welfare schemes' from reaching the poor. To hide its incompetence and ineffectiveness and fearing Modi's growing popularity in Punjab, this campaign has been stopped at more than 50 places through misuse of police.
Rana said that on the land of Punjab, which taught the world 'public service', today the AAP government is misusing the police and administration to stop 'public service'. The oppressive policy of the AAP government will not be tolerated on this land of gurus, saints and martyrs. BJP will strongly oppose the repression being done by Punjab Police to stop the facilities being given to the poor by the Central Government.
I strongly condemn this undemocratic and anti-people action of the Punjab Government. Narinder Rana further said that is this the real meaning of Aam Aadmi Party's "Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed"…?? Neither the AAP government itself could bring any scheme for the welfare of the people of Punjab and now it is stopping the public welfare schemes of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from reaching the people.
Today not only BJP workers but also the people of Punjab are asking the question that how long will this anti-people politics continue?? The Bharatiya Janata Party will fight for the rights of the people of Punjab, will not bow down and will not hesitate to take to the streets along with the sensible people of the state to strongly oppose this repressive policy of the state government.
