
Deputy Commissioner reviews ongoing repairs of Kharar-Landra road near Shivalik.
Kharar (S.A.S. Nagar), September 6: Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today reviewed the ongoing strengthening and upgradation work of Kharar-Landra road being undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and directed the officials to complete the project without any hitch.

He stressed that Kharar-Landra road acts as an important parallel link to the Chandigarh-Kharar highway, which provides connectivity to Ludhiana and Banur roads. The Deputy Commissioner assured the NHAI that the Municipal Council, Kharar, will continue to carry out regular water drainage work to ensure smooth progress of the work. He added that the project will also help in resolving the issues of rainwater and sewage in Shivalik and adjoining colonies.
National Highways officials assured that the project would be completed within 20 days, with teams working round the clock to provide relief to the people.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inaugurated the Rs 2.09 crore repair and construction work of Nijjar Chowk-Chhajju Majra road, which was much needed after the work of laying sewerage and rainwater lines. He stressed that the project, being a major link between Kharar-Landra and Chandigarh-Kharar roads, would be completed on priority basis to fulfill the long-standing demand of the local residents.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, SDM Kharar Smt. Divya P, Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kharar, Sukhdev Singh and senior officials of National Highways.
