Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 16, 2024: Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district will receive a quota of one thousand metric tons of DAP fertilizer tomorrow, which will provide a big benefit to the farmers of the district in fulfilling DAP.
Giving this information, the Chief Agriculture Officer of the district, Dr. Gurmail Singh, said that the total quota of phosphatic fertilizers required in the district is 7763 metric tons. Out of which 4650 metric tons have been supplied so far.
He said that the area under wheat in the district is estimated at 56600 hectares and 1800 hectares under potato. For which the total demand of phosphatic fertilizers has been estimated at 7353 metric tons. He said that tomorrow, a quota of about one thousand metric tons of DAP fertilizer will be given to the societies and fertilizer dealers of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district from the rack of Indian Potash Limited at Ropar.
He said that the farmers in the district are being continuously made aware by the agricultural officers about the alternative phosphatic mixtures/fertilizers of DAP fertilizer.
According to the Chief Agricultural Officer, single super phosphate, triple super phosphate and NPK fertilizers can also be used instead of DAP, so farmers should not depend only on DAP.
