Chandigarh, July 18 – Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, who also holds the charge of the Finance Ministry, has given final approval to the formation of the Department of Future, fulfilling the visionary announcement made in the budget for the year 2025-26.

After the approval of this important decision by the Governor of Haryana, the state government has issued a notification in this regard.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the governments of the 21st century will not only work for the present but also for the future. The Haryana Government will now conduct policy making on the basis of foresight, data analysis and technical expertise. The Department of Future will further strengthen the foundation of our state in the coming years.
Haryana's policies will now not only consider the needs of the present but also the choices of the future. The Future Department has been formed at a time when climate change, technological revolution, increasing population and global uncertainties are presenting new challenges to the states. The main goal of this department is to provide effective solutions to these changes through serious study, forecast and collective policy making.
The main objective of the Future Department is to identify the social, economic and technological needs of Haryana in the future. This department will focus on linking the possibilities of using cutting-edge fields like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Robotics with policy making.
It will also make plans to develop future skills for the youth. The department will be tasked with anticipating future challenges in key sectors like human resources, education, health, energy, agriculture, water, environment and infrastructure and preparing timely solutions.
Along with this, it will also aim to develop long-term strategies by coordinating the plans of all departments. By analyzing the social impact, opportunities and risks of new technologies, the department will provide evidence-based suggestions. Through this, Haryana's role in global competition will be strengthened and continuous development and innovation-based governance will be encouraged by adopting data intelligence and predictive modeling in planning.

Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that this department will bring new direction and opportunities especially for the youth of Haryana. He said that in a changing world where traditional jobs and businesses are changing rapidly, preparing the youth on time will be the most important policy of the future. The Future Department will not only become a guide for the youth, but will also play a decisive role in policy making.

The Chief Minister said that the Future Department will be Haryana's most important contribution in embodying the goal of Developed India @2047 of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This department will take Haryana towards a strong future from vision to implementation with the coordination of the state government's triple engine policy - Central Government, State Government and Technology/Innovation.
He said that this department will not only make policies, but will become an institution that will change the thinking, working style and perspective of Haryana. This is the seed of preparation for our future, which will turn into a banyan tree of prosperity and stability in the coming years.
