
Punjab Police arrests two activists of Davinder Bambiha gang; two pistols recovered
Chandigarh/SAS Nagar, November 27: In another major success, the Punjab Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ??in a joint operation with SAS Nagar Police has arrested two activists of the Davinder Bambiha gang and recovered seven cartridges including two .32 bore pistols from their possession.

Giving further information in this regard, Director General of Police Punjab (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said here today that the arrested persons have been identified as Harinder Singh, a resident of village Mehmadpur in SAS Nagar and Gurjinder Singh, a resident of Varana in SAS Nagar.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested accused were working on the behest of US-based Kulvir Singh alias Lala Benipal, who is an associate of foreign-origin gangster Lucky Patial. Accused Lala Benipal had earlier plotted two separate attacks in SAS Nagar. Which included targeting a financier in September 2023 and a rival gang member in December 2023.
The DGP said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the said accused were tasked with committing several crimes in the Tricity area. He added that further investigation is being conducted to find out the back-and-forth links in this case.
SAS Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek said that the police teams had received credible information that Lala Benipal had tasked his gang members to commit criminal activities in the Tricity. He said that acting swiftly on the information, joint teams of AGTF and SAS Nagar Police succeeded in tracing the accused and arresting them near Focal Point, Mubarakpur.
The SSP said that accused Harinder has a criminal background and cases related to attempt to murder and Arms Act are registered against him. He said that further investigation is underway to identify and arrest his other accomplices.
In this regard, a case has been registered under FIR No. 354 dated 25/11/2024 under Section 111 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 25(6)(7) and 27 of the Arms Act at SAS Nagar Police Station Derabassi.
