Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 21: The Town Planning Branch of the Municipal Corporation controls the work of building regulation in the villages and industrial sector (excluding industrial constructions) within the corporation limits. No construction can be done in these areas without the approval of the Municipal Corporation.
 This disclosure was made by the Corporation Commissioner T Benith after inspecting the Municipal Corporation teams to check the unauthorized constructions/illegal occupations in these areas.
 Commissioner Municipal Corporation T Benith, along with Assistant Commissioner Jagjit Singh Judge and MTP Rajnish Wadhwa inspected the constructions taking place at village Sohana. In which it was revealed that many multi-storied commercial constructions are being constructed against the provisions of the Building Bylaws.
 On the spot, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner issued these instructions that the office records regarding the construction of these buildings should be examined and a report submitted as soon as possible according to the situation. And if any unauthorized construction has taken place, action should be initiated against it immediately as per rules. Apart from this, the Commissioner Municipal Corporation has also given strict instructions that immediate action should be taken as per the law on coming to the notice of illegal construction or illegal occupation at any place under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation.
 Along with this, the Commissioner Municipal Corporation has appealed to the general public to pass the map in the villages (Mohali, Syahimajra, Sohana, Mataur and Kumbhara) and the industrial sector (excluding industrial constructions) under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation. After the completion of the construction work as per the provisions of the Building Byelaws on the spot.
