Hoshiarpur- Former cabinet minister and senior BJP leader Teekshan Sood has said in a press note that there is a risk of about 8 lakh ration cards being cut due to the Mann government's own scams, but all the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party government are busy in hiding those scams by making false statements.
He said that earlier the Punjab government used to give food grains to the poor at Rs 2 per kg at its own expense, which has now been stopped. At present, the Central Government is giving free food grains to 1 crore 41 lakh people of Punjab under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana as per the National Food Security Rules.
But the Aam Aadmi Party government has been running this scheme with malice from the beginning and is misleading the people by printing Bhagwant Mann's photos on the food grains bags that this food grains are being given by the Mann government.
Teekshan Sood said that according to the rules of the scheme, the state government has to send the e-KYC of the poor to the central government, so that it can be known who is eligible for this scheme. But the Mann government had started distributing food grains to its own whims and the real poor were cheated. For this reason, despite the repeated requests from the center for the last 6 months, the state government has not sent the e-KYC.
He said that Union Food Supply Minister Prahlad Joshi has also made it clear that the ration of 1 crore 41 lakh beneficiaries of Punjab has not been cut. The Mann government is unnecessarily blaming the center to hide its theft.
Teekshan Sood said that if the Punjab government really wants to provide the benefits of central schemes to the poor, then it should immediately identify the 1 crore 41 lakh eligible beneficiaries and send their e-KYC so that the real poor can get the facility of ration.
