Patiala, April 30 - According to the directions of the District Election Officer Patiala Shaukat Ahmed Pare, election literacy of various schools/colleges by the District Sweep Nodal Officer to make the voters aware about the announcement of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and the elections to be held on June 1. A cycle rally was organized to increase the voter turnout in Patiala city by speeding up the sweep campaign with the support of the clubs. This rally was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Madam Kanchan and Assistant Returning Officer Patiala City Arvind Kumar.

   Before the start of the cycle rally, the District Sweep Nodal Officer Dr. Savinder Rekhi administered voter's oath to the cyclists and the persons present. On this occasion, he said that the rally started from Mini Secretariat, passed through Thapar College Chowk, Leela Bhawan Chowk and ended at Khanda Chowk back to Mini Secretariat and more than 100 students participated in this rally. In this rally specially District Sweep Icon (Disabled) Jagwinder Singh and Jagdeep Singh led the rally and made the youth and disabled voters aware to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. District Social Security Officer Virinder Singh Bains and employees and workers of CDPO Patiala Urban prepared rangolis for voter awareness at the starting point of the rally. The volunteers who participated in the cycle rally were honored with t-shirts and certificates by the district sweep. The district sweep team installed voter awareness posters on bicycles for voter awareness and refreshments were provided to the volunteers after the rally.
