
Instructions from the Deputy Commissioner to speed up the procurement and lifting of wheat
Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, while checking Mahilpur Dana Mandi and Markfed warehouse today, directed the concerned officials and procurement agencies to speed up the purchase and lifting of wheat reaching the district markets. He said that till now 35237 metric tons of wheat has arrived in the markets of the district and 35154 metric tons of wheat has been purchased.

The Deputy Commissioner said that so far 12987 metric tons of wheat has been purchased by Pangrain, 4897 by Markfed, 7206 by Pansp, 6323 by Punjab State Warehouse Corporation, 2921 by FCI and 820 metric tons by traders. He said that till now, 51.80 crore rupees have been paid to the farmers for the wheat purchased.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the lifting work is also going on rapidly in the markets and the officials have been instructed to lift the purchased wheat at the same time. He said that no problem will be allowed in the smooth procurement of wheat in the district and the district administration will buy one grain of wheat in the markets. He said that necessary instructions have been given to all concerned officials to meet the daily target of lifting and it is being monitored daily. He appealed to the farmers and said that the crops should be brought to the markets after being completely dried and that the crops should not be harvested with combines from 7 pm to 10 am. He said that when wheat is harvested with combines in the evening, the combines also cut the moist crop, due to which the amount of moisture in the crop increases. He appealed to the farmers to save the environment from pollution by not burning the waste and grain of sugarcane.
