
Food Commission member Vijay Dutt conducted surprise inspection of government ration depots
21 February Nawanshahr- Punjab State Food Commission member Vijay Dutt today conducted surprise inspection of various government ration depots of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. The purpose of this inspection was to evaluate the beneficial schemes being run under the National Food Security Act. During this, he inspected the government ration depots of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Mohalla Shanti Nagar, Valmiki Mohalla, Chopra Mohalla, Slough Road and Nawanshahr city.
21 February Nawanshahr- Punjab State Food Commission member Vijay Dutt today conducted surprise inspection of various government ration depots of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. The purpose of this inspection was to evaluate the beneficial schemes being run under the National Food Security Act. During this, he inspected the government ration depots of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Mohalla Shanti Nagar, Valmiki Mohalla, Chopra Mohalla, Slough Road and Nawanshahr city.
During this, he also interacted with the beneficiaries who came to take government ration and informed them about their rights. The concerned officers were also present during the inspection. He said that the government is running a three-month wheat distribution scheme from January to March. He said that according to the data received, about 80 to 82 percent of wheat has been distributed in the district so far.
Along with this, with the introduction of biometric machines and electric weighing machines in all the government ration depots of the district, transparency has increased in the process of ration distribution and the general public has got relief. Vijay Dutt said that he keeps doing surprise inspections from time to time and if any deficiency is found in any beneficial scheme, then the commission will issue instructions to take strict action against it.
He gave a message through the media that if any beneficiary has not taken wheat yet, then he can go to his depot and take it. Commission member Vijay Dutt directed to display the helpline number (9876764545) of Punjab State Food Commission in all the government ration depots of the district.
He said that if any beneficiary has any complaint related to the schemes of National Food Security Act, then he can register his complaint on this helpline number.
