Member of Parliament Praneet Kaur has won from Patiala Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket. In 2021, the Congress removed Captain Amarinder Singh from the post of Chief Minister and made Charanjit Singh Channi the Chief Minister. After this Captain Amarinder Singh joined BJP.
