Nawanshahr - International Women's Day was celebrated today on March 8, 2024 at Red Cross De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center Nawanshahr. This event was presided over by Chaman Singh (Project Director). The chief guests of this event were Mrs. Sonia (Chairperson CWC SBS Nagar) and Kanchan Arora (DCPO, SBS Nagar).

On this occasion Chaman Singh while addressing the gathering said that today is celebrated as International Women's Day all over the world. This special day is celebrated to honor women. Because all our relationships are connected with women. A woman always supports as a mother, sister, daughter, wife. The purpose of celebrating this day is to give equal respect to women and to make women aware of their rights. On this occasion Mrs. Kanchan Arora (DCPO, SBS Nagar) while addressing the gathering said that the Indian Constitution has given many rights to women, such as the right to equality, equal pay to men in employment, etc. On this occasion Mrs. Sonia (Chairperson CWC SBS Nagar) told about the importance of today's day that respecting women is our primary duty. Our country has made a lot of progress now and women have also made a lot of progress in society because women work equally with men like banks, army, police or any other government or private institution. Women have equal contribution to the progress of the country as men. He said that we should all respect women and come forward to help them for their safety. On this occasion, Kamaljit Kaur, Manjit Singh, Dinesh Kumar, Harpreet Kaur, Manjot, Kamla Rani, Jaswinder Kaur, and the patients admitted at the center, their parents were present.
