Una, 27 February- Municipal Corporation Commissioner and ADC Una Mahendra Pal Gurjar while giving information said that after the formation of Municipal Corporation Una, some misconceptions are being seen regarding house tax, which is completely baseless. The provision of house tax in urban bodies already exists in the rules of the government, and not after the formation of Municipal Corporation, property/house tax has been imposed.
ADC said that in the meeting of the then Municipal Council held on 27 April 2023 in the presence of all the ward members, a proposal was passed to get the survey done by Aryabhatta Geo Informatics and Space Application Center (Agisac) Agency. Apart from this, the format of property tax rates has also been published in the gazette of Himachal Pradesh Government on 3 February 2023.
Aryabhatta Geo Informatics and Space Applications Centre (AGESAC) agency was appointed for the survey for property tax in Una urban area on July 30, 2022 and the agency completed the survey work in February, 2024. He informed that this property tax is applicable only on the areas previously included in the Municipal Council Una.
The annual property tax in urban local bodies has been fixed at the rate of per square meter area and it is applicable to all government and non-government buildings located in the urban area. He informed that there is also a provision of 10 percent discount on payment of annual property tax within 15 days after the issuance of the bill.
