Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh will lay the foundation stone of the new medical college at District Hospital, Nawanshahr on the occasion of Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh's Martyrdom Day on March 23, 2025. These words were expressed by Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today during his visit to District Hospital Nawanshahr, where he took stock of the preparations for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new medical college in the district, including the arrangements for the drainage system for the drainage of water.
On this occasion, he also inspected the land given for the medical college in the district. On this occasion, he discussed about the medical college with the officials of various concerned government departments of the district including the Health Department and issued necessary instructions. Talking to reporters, the Health Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed to setting up new medical colleges in the state.
He said that on March 23, the foundation stone of the next phase of our health revolution will be laid in Shaheed Bhagat Singh's land Nawanshahr. This is a historic moment for Punjab, which will ensure that every citizen has access to state-of-the-art healthcare without financial burden.
This will greatly increase the access and quality of healthcare for the people of Punjab and will prove to be an upcoming milestone. The Health Minister said that this medical college will prove to be a boon in providing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to the people of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and surrounding areas.
Responding to a question, the Health Minister said that the recruitment process of medical and paramedical staff in government hospitals is going on continuously. The shortage of staff in the hospitals will be met soon. There will be no shortage of doctors in Punjab.
