Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of developmental projects worth Rs 33 crore in Gagret assembly constituency

Una January 27: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today made a surprise visit to Government Senior Secondary School Marwari during his one-day visit to Gagret assembly constituency of district Una. The Chief Minister also visited the classes and interacted with the students. The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for widening the school playground.

Una January 27: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today made a surprise visit to Government Senior Secondary School Marwari during his one-day visit to Gagret assembly constituency of district Una. The Chief Minister also visited the classes and interacted with the students. The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for widening the school playground.
The Chief Minister also directed the Public Works Department to repair the old school building, so that the students can get a better environment for studies. He encouraged the students to work hard and said that the state government is trying to improve the field of education so that they can get quality education.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government is opening Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools in every assembly constituency. He said that from the next academic session, education will be taught in English medium from class 1 in government schools. Schools will be given freedom to choose smart uniforms and resources will be used better by forming clusters. He said that it will take time to get results from all these efforts. During this, the Chief Minister also posed for selfies with the children. The students were filled with enthusiasm after receiving the affection of the Chief Minister.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of three developmental projects worth Rs 33.26 crore for Gagret assembly constituency, which include Mini Secretariat at Gagret to be built at a cost of Rs 19.49 crore, Marwari-Joh bridge to be built at a cost of Rs 11.28 crore and Rs 2.49 crore This includes the bridge being constructed on Kuneran ravine on Gondpur Banhera-Ghanari link road.
