Una, January 24 - A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma regarding preparation of electoral roll for Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee elections. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission regarding the preparation of electoral rolls. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Una said that in view of the SGPC elections, registration of Sikh voters is being done from 18 December to 29 February 2024.

Una, January 24 - A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma regarding preparation of electoral roll for Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee elections. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission regarding the preparation of electoral rolls. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Una said that in view of the SGPC elections, registration of Sikh voters is being done from 18 December to 29 February 2024. He said that apart from Hindi, the registration forms will also be accepted in Punjabi language. He said that for registration, the age of the voter should be 21 years for which the cut-off date will be December 18, 2023. Apart from this, the voter must have self-attested Aadhaar card or voter photo identity card or Indian passport or driver's license or service identity card given to employees by Central / State Government / PSU / Public Limited Company or passbook issued by the bank / post office with photo. Or it is mandatory to attach a self-attested copy of any one of the PAN Card or MNREGA Job Card or Health Insurance Smart Card or Government Pensioner Document or official identity card issued to MLAs/MPs etc. Apart from this, it is mandatory to attach the latest self-attested color copy on the prescribed form. Apart from pasting the passport size photograph, it is also mandatory to sign the self-declaration.
Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma said that all the SDM Review Authority officers of the district have been appointed for this work. He said that Sikh voters wishing to create voter identity can submit their application in Format-1 to the Patwari in rural areas and to the Executive Officer/Secretary of the Municipal Council in urban areas. He informed that the relevant formats can be obtained from 1 SDM office, Patwari, EO MC.
In the meeting, SDM Bangana Manoj Kumar, SDM Haroli Vishal Sharma, SDM Gagret Shashi Pal Sharma, SDM Una Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan, District Panchayat Officer Shravan Kashyap, Baba Amarjot Singh Bedi, General Secretary of Guru Nanak Mission Organization Harpal Singh Kotla and others belonging to the Sikh community were present. Officials and representatives of various organizations were also present.
