He directed the officials to take action under the Adarsh ??Gram Yojana by contacting the Additional Deputy Commissioners of the state. He ordered to send the report to the head office within 15 days after spending the outstanding funds under various schemes. Social Justice Minister on various issues related to Untouchability under Protection of Civil Rights Act 1955 and Compensation to Victims under Prevention of Atrocities Act 1989, Ashirwad Scheme, Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, Fake Caste Certificates, Prime Minister Adarsh ??Gram Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Scheduled Caste Abhiday Yojana, being constructed at the district level. Construction of BR Ambedkar buildings, stenography scheme were discussed in detail. Dr. Baljit Kaur further said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is constantly striving for the welfare of Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections. The minister has ordered the district officials to send the reports to the head office within 15 days after spending the funds received for various schemes. Apart from this, the officials were instructed to ensure that the benefits of the schemes being run by the department are provided to the beneficiaries on time. In this meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities D.K. Tiwari, Director Amrit Singh, Director-cum-Joint Secretary Raj Bahadur Singh and Deputy Directors Ravinderpal Singh, Harpal Singh, Sukhsagar Singh and Ashish Kathuria were specially present. During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister directed the District/Tehsil Social Justice and Empowerment Officers to conduct awareness camps within a month to make people aware of the schemes being run by the department. He said that under the Ashirwad scheme, 95.36 crore rupees have been distributed to 18699 beneficiaries of scheduled castes in 20 districts and 42.39 crore to 8312 beneficiaries of backward classes till January 2024. He said that now 137.75 crores have been distributed to 27011 beneficiaries under the Ashirwad scheme.
