Patiala, January 22 - After special summary correction of voter lists and final publication based on eligibility date 1 January 2024, CDs of voter lists and votes were handed over to the representatives of political parties in the district by Patiala Assistant Commissioner Ravinder Singh today.
The Assistant Commissioner said on this occasion that during this special summary correction, newly created votes, deleted votes and after correction, the total number of voters in the eight assembly constituencies of the district Nabha, Patiala Rural, Rajpura, Ghanour, Sanur, Patiala, Samana and Shutrana are now The number is 14 lakh 98 thousand 280.
Among them there are 7 lakh 83 thousand 227 male, 7 lakh 14 thousand 996 female and 57 transgender voters. Ravinder Singh said that in order to increase the participation of the youth in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Election Commission of India has mandated that every youth who is 18 years of age or older should be included in the photo voter list and that they should be included in the 100% of India's democracy. A target of 100% equity has been set. The Election Commission of India has fixed four eligibility dates in a year: 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October according to which the next eligibility date is now 1 April 2024. In the meeting, all the political parties were asked to appoint their respective booth level agents at each polling station as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India. Mahendra Singh from Congress Party, Sukhwinder Singh from Shiromani Akali Dal and Rajinder Mohan from Aam Aadmi Party and Baldev Singh Mehra from Bahujan Samaj Party besides Tehsildar Ram Ji Lal were present in this meeting.
