Patiala, January 17 - A complaint has been filed against Manish Kumar of village Devigarh, police station Julkan for raping a girl and keeping her locked in a room for three days. The complaint states that the complainant girl became friends with the accused on Instagram. One day after that, he took her to Karnal (Haryana) on his motorcycle on the pretense of marriage, raped her there and kept her locked in the room for three days. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 376, 509 of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act.
In another separate case, a report of abduction of a girl has been registered against Deep Singh, a resident of Gian Colony (Sular) in Pasiana police station. The complainant has told that her daughter left home saying to go to beauty parlor but did not come back, searched a lot but could not find her. Later it was learned that the accused had taken the girl away on the pretense of marriage. The police have registered a case against the accused under section 363 and 366-A of the IPC.
