Patiala- The 104th birth anniversary of Shri Shri Anand Murthy Ji, Founder of Anand Marg Pracharak Sangh was celebrated at Anand Marg Jagriti 1368/13, Gurbaksh Colony, Patiala by conducting a 3-hour Akhand Kirtan of Baba Naam Kevalam for world peace, serving unlimited langar to the needy and providing sweet water to the needy.
Shri Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar arrived in Jamalpur (Bihar) on the auspicious day of Anand Purnima in the year 1921. His spiritual name was named Shri Shri Anand Murthy by his followers as a sign of love and respect. The foundation of Anand Marg was laid in 1955. At present, Anand Marg is spread all over the world. The motto of Anand Marg is self-realization for the sake of the world, that is, to know oneself and to serve the world selflessly.
Shri Shri Anand Murthy Ji wrote more than 200 books on various subjects for the welfare of humanity such as economics, psychology, sociology, linguistics, agriculture and history etc. in which humanity gets guidance for the progress of every field. Apart from this, he composed 5018 devotional songs and himself composed them. Which are known as Prabhat Sangeet. Thousands of monks have donated their lives in this institution and they are spreading this philosophy in the world that how humanity can be well-off and man can reach his true goal and create a beautiful human society.
There are two ashrams on Anand Marg in Patiala, one is in Gurbaksh Colony 1368/13 and the other is in C-6 Jagdish Colony. Where the scientific method of yoga and meditation is taught. On this auspicious day of Advent, a 3-hour Akhand Kirtan and religious discussion was held at Gurbaksh Kaloli Ashram. After this, a full langar was served to the needy. Apart from this, this organization is running 2 homeopathic dispensaries, two middle schools and a physiotherapy center on a charitable basis and hundreds of people are benefiting from these projects every month.
