When this journalist visited here, along with the construction of the main gate, the structure of the Jan Aushadhi Kendra booth was being prepared. The contractor Pankaj Jindal, who came to review the progress of the work, said that his construction company has got the contract to renovate five railway stations including Patiala in Punjab. The total cost is Rs 15 crore and Rs 3 crore will be spent on each station. The entire expenditure is being borne by the central government, the state government has no share in it.
Pankaj Jindal gave more information about the Patiala project and said that the facilities provided at this station include canteen, toilet block, parking, executive lounge, foot over bridge, green and landscaping area. He also said that the target is to complete this project by March 31.
